Singer/actress Eugene talks about her views regard the discord between SM Entertainment and Dong Bang Shin Ki. She said in a recent interview, “Even though I don’t know the details, I hope both sides can settle this amiably.”
Eugene was from S.E.S under SM Entertainment debuting in 1997. S.E.S was one of the first girlgroups and had the concept of fairies and had made issues with their songs and costumes. After which, there were the other girlgroups like Fin.K.L, Baby VOX, Chakra. And then recently we have WonderGirls and So Nyeo Shi Dae etc.
Eugene said, “It is true that SM have a good training system for a big company. With that, there are many youths who wants to debut under these big companies and there are many cases of them signing long term exclusive contracts with the company. When the singers grow and develop, the contract should also change if not there will be piled-up unhappiness. It is a shame that companies take advantages of the weaknesses of these new singers.”
She added, “Recently when I look at the juniors, it seems that their schedule is so tight they can hardly breathe. It would be great if they are able to find happiness and influence through their entertainer activities and at the same time are able to improve on things like profits etc.”

TVXQ’s U-Know Yunho has been attracting attention by continuing on with filming for his drama even though the future of his group might be at stake.
U-Know Yunho was cast for his acting debut on MBC’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Heading to the Ground’ (Director Park Sungsoo, Writers Kim Solji, Kim Yehji) and began filming on the 28th last month.
During the past week, TVXQ’s members YoungWoong Jaejoong, Micky Yoochun and Xiah Junsu filed for a Exclusive Contract Validity Suspension and Provisional Disposition Request against SM Entertainment and the rift between the two sides have gotten deeper as time passes. However, this has not stopped U-Know Yunho from taking his lead role seriously and contunuing with the filming for the drama.
One representative said on the 5th that, “U-Know Yunho is working extremely hard on set as he usually does even though he is surrounded by the chaos that is happening right now,” and “We filmed on the 4th at Kyunggi-do Kimpo as well.” They are busy filming throughout the night going back and forth from Seoul and its borders for the first few scenes. It was seen that U-Know Yunho has been trying very hard to be the best that he can be for his big role of his first drama.
‘Heading to the Ground’ is the success story of Cha Bong-goon, a man who has nothing but is driven by passion for playing soccer. U-Know Yunho, who has taken on the lead role, will be working alongside Ara, Lee Yoonji and Lee Sangyoon.
On the other hand, YoungWoong Jaejoong, Micky Yoochun and Xiah Junsu have been stating that, “Our 13-year contract is basically a for-life contract,” and “We. all five members, did not receive proper treatment from SM for our hard work.” U-Know Yunho, along with Choikang Changmin, did not participate in this lawsuit.
The magnae of TVXQ, Choikang Changmin, with the background of Jeju island meadow, is casted in romantic comedy drama “Paradise Meadow” and will start the shooting at the end of August or early September.
Paradise Meadow is a story about a divorced couple who comes back to their house to find out that there’s another chance of them to fall in love again. Changmin will act as the 20th years tycoon.
The member from group TVXQ, Hero Jaejoong who is recently having an controversy for suing his agency SM Entertainment will appear only in voice in program “Quiz to Change the World.”
In the recording of MBC “Quiz to Change the World” which will broadcast on August 8th, at the solo scene where Lee Min Woo took “sudden performance” corner, without notice he’s transferred in a phone call where Jaejoong made his surprise appearance being someone Min Woo found across the line.
Min Woo who happened to call Jaejoong who was currently in Japan was surprised, yet they had a good time through the phone call. In meantime, this telerecording was made before the lawsuit against SM was submitted.
